N.R.S. 293B.165 – Tests required before and after counting of ballots; certification of tests by accuracy certification board

Overview of Statute

This section requires further tests of equipment, programs, and devices immediately before and after official counting of ballots.

Statute

1.  A test conducted in the manner prescribed in subsections 1 and 2 of NRS 293B.155 must be conducted immediately before the start of the official count of the ballots and again within 24 hours after the official count of the ballots.

2.  Such tests must be certified by the accuracy certification board.

Definition [Board]

As used in NRS 295.075 to 295.125, inclusive, unless the context otherwise requires, “board” means the board of county commissioners.

Definition [Ballot]

The record of a voter’s preference of candidates and questions voted upon at an election. The term includes, without limitation, any paper given to a voter upon which the voter places his or her vote and any electronic storage tapes.
