N.R.S. 293.567 - Number of registered voters in county to be transmitted by county clerk to Secretary of State before primary and general elections

Overview of Statute

This section provides for the number of registered voters in a county to be transmitted by a county clerk to the Secretary of State before the primary and general election.

Statute

After the close of registration for each primary election but not later than the Friday preceding the primary election and after the close of registration for each general election but not later than the Friday preceding the general election, the county clerk shall ascertain by precinct and district the number of registered voters in the county and their political affiliation, if any, and shall transmit that information to the Secretary of State.

Definition [County clerk]

Except as the term is used in NRS 293.393, whenever the term “county clerk” is used in this title it means “registrar of voters” in those counties where such office has been created pursuant to the provisions of NRS 244.164.
