N.R.S. 293C.615 – Accuracy certification board to observe conduct of tests on equipment for mechanical voting; representatives of candidates and press authorized to observe

Overview of Statute

This section requires the accuracy certification board to observe testing of mechanical voting systems, and allows representatives of candidates to observe as well.

Statute

1.  The accuracy certification board shall observe the conduct of the tests prescribed by NRS 293B.150 and 293B.165.

2.  Representatives of the candidates and the press may also observe the conduct of those tests.

Definition [Board]

As used in NRS 295.075 to 295.125, inclusive, unless the context otherwise requires, “board” means the board of county commissioners.

Definition [Candidate]

Any person:

      1.  Who files a declaration of candidacy;

      2.  Who files an acceptance of candidacy;

      3.  Whose name appears on an official ballot at any election; or

      4.  Who has received one or more contributions in excess of $100, regardless of whether:

      (a) The person has filed a declaration of candidacy or an acceptance of candidacy; or

      (b) The name of the person appears on an official ballot at any election.
