N.R.S. 293C.358 – Appointment of deputy clerks

Overview of Statute

This section requires the city clerk to appoint a deputy clerk for early voting and allows the city clerk to appoint as many clerks as he or she deems necessary for conducting an election.

Statute

1.  The city clerk shall appoint for each polling place for early voting a deputy clerk for early voting who must serve as the election officer in charge of the polling place.

2.  The city clerk may also appoint as many additional deputy clerks as he or she deems necessary for the proper conduct of the election.

A deputy clerk for early voting who is appointed pursuant to NRS 293.358 to serve as the election officer in charge of the polling place for early voting.

Definition [Clerk]

The election board officer designated or assigned to make the record of the election in the roster, tally list and challenge list in the precinct, district or polling place in which such officer is appointed.
