N.R.S. 293C.230 – Appointment of single central election board for mailing precincts

Overview of Statute

This section requires the city clerk to appoint an election board for all mailing precincts within the city.

Statute

Except as otherwise provided in NRS 293C.240, one election board must be appointed by the city clerk for all mailing precincts within the city and must be designated the central election board. The city clerk shall deliver the mailed ballots to that board in his or her office, and the board shall count the votes on those ballots in the manner required by law.

The depositing of printed or written matter in a mailbox or post office for delivery by the United States Postal Service.

The election board officer designated or assigned to make the record of the election in the roster, tally list and challenge list in the precinct, district or polling place in which such officer is appointed.

Definition [Board]

As used in NRS 295.075 to 295.125, inclusive, unless the context otherwise requires, “board” means the board of county commissioners.

Definition [Ballot]

The record of a voter’s preference of candidates and questions voted upon at an election. The term includes, without limitation, any paper given to a voter upon which the voter places his or her vote and any electronic storage tapes.
