N.R.S. 293B.340 – Intermediate point may be designated as receiving center; handling procedures

This section allows for an intermediate point rather than a central counting place for ballots.
Statute
The county or city clerk may provide that an intermediate point other than the central counting place be designated as a receiving center for ballots in transit. In that case, he or she shall appoint officers to inspect seals, issue receipts, maintain logs and effect the final transportation of ballots to the central counting place.

The location designated by the county or city clerk for the compilation of election returns.

2. Definition for Clerk
The election board officer designated or assigned to make the record of the election in the roster, tally list and challenge list in the precinct, district or polling place in which such officer is appointed.

3. Definition for Ballot
The record of a voter’s preference of candidates and questions voted upon at an election. The term includes, without limitation, any paper given to a voter upon which the voter places his or her vote and any electronic storage tapes.
