N.R.S. 293B.250 – Light in voting booth

Overview of Statute

This section allows a light fixture to be added to a voting booth in which a mechanical recording device is installed.

Statute

If the voting booth in which a mechanical recording device is to be installed is not equipped with a light, the county or city clerk may provide a light and direct that it be affixed to the booth or to the device.

Definition [Mechanical recording device]

A device which mechanically or electronically compiles a total of the number of votes cast for each candidate and for or against each measure voted on.

Definition [Clerk]

The election board officer designated or assigned to make the record of the election in the roster, tally list and challenge list in the precinct, district or polling place in which such officer is appointed.
