N.R.S. 293.358 - Appointment of deputy clerks

Overview of Statute

This section provides for the appointment of deputy clerks.

Statute

     1.  The county clerk shall appoint for each polling place for early voting a deputy clerk for early voting who must serve as the election officer in charge of the polling place.

      2.  The county clerk may also appoint as many additional deputy clerks as he or she deems necessary for the proper conduct of the election.

Definition [County clerk]

Except as the term is used in NRS 293.393, whenever the term “county clerk” is used in this title it means “registrar of voters” in those counties where such office has been created pursuant to the provisions of NRS 244.164.

Definition [Deputy clerk]

A deputy clerk for early voting who is appointed pursuant to NRS 293.358 to serve as the election officer in charge of the polling place for early voting.

Definition [Clerk]

The election board officer designated or assigned to make the record of the election in the roster, tally list and challenge list in the precinct, district or polling place in which such officer is appointed.
